Infographic: Time Between Concerts

time between concerts

A few weeks ago I saw one of my favorite bands, Man or Astro-Man?, in concert for just the second time. The previous concert had been at the same venue nearly ten years before. It got me to thinking about how much time generally passes between the times I see a band in concert.

I've seen 106 bands or artists more than once. Eighty of those bands I have seen twice and fifteen I've seen three times. I've seen six bands four times, two bands five times and three more six times. The six longest times between seeing a band have been:

  1. 3,640 days = Man or Astro-man? (October 23, 2001 to October 11, 2011)
  2. 2,628 days = The Toadies (May 20, 2001 to July 30, 2008)
  3. 2,130 days = Sonic Youth (August 18, 2000 to June 18, 2006)
  4. 2,078 days - The Starlight Mints (October 4, 2003 to June 12, 2009)
  5. 1,996 days - Clap Your Hands Say Yeah (June 17, 2006 to December 4, 2011)
  6. 1,782 days = They Might Be Giants (the second and third times - October 29, 2002 to September 15, 2007)

And the five shortest time spans between concerts:

  1. Less than one day = The Apples in Stereo (July 19 to July 20, 2008)
  2. 7 days = The Beets (August 28 to September 5, 2009)
  3. 8 days = Vivian Girls (August 28 to September 6, 2009)
  4. 14 days = Headlights (September 23 to October 7, 2006)
  5. 21 days = The Flaming Lips (August 5 to August 26, 2006)
